The outbreak of the Coronavirus or COVID-19 has gone global and more and more people are being infected rapidly by this virus. This virus is something to be taken seriously and with proper precautions. The City of Menifee Chamber of Commerce is aware of this outbreak and is here for the citizens of Menifee.
The health and well being of the community is the top priority. This virus will, unfortunately, cause inconvenience, but as of right now all meetings and future events will be postponed until further notice.
Menifee Unified School Districts of all grades are to be closed until at least April 14th. It is in everyone's best interest to avoid places with large numbers of people to avoid the spread of the virus. Parents and students keep checking blackboards, canvas, or any site or app linked to the teachers and staff of you or your child school.
Grocery stores will still be open to the public, such as Ralphs and Stater Brothers. Although local restaurants may close their indoor dining, they will still have the option of takeout or delivery. You can use the app Grubhub, Uber Eats, and Door Dash to order in and enjoy the dining experience in the comfort of your home with loved ones.

Tips for students who are taking online classes for the first time for all ages.
- Treat studying like a job - remember to consciously choose to show up, absorb content available to you, schedule in assessments, lectures, tasks, and really set and keep those boundaries. Implement firm boundaries.
- Make a Study Plan - Take the time to plan reading and work on assignments, although, regularly adjust the plan if necessary. Set out a clear and adjustable plan and stick to it. Be organized and set a certain amount of hours per day or week into your schedule.
- Manage your time - Set a schedule and stick with it to keep you structured. People tend to do better in a structured environment. Estimate how much time you need for studying and how much time you need for assignments.
- Limit Social Media - log off all social media to help maintain focus on your studies.
- Use Online Resources - use any of the student resources that are available. Use your school online library which offers resources for your assignments given.
- Take Notes - be mentally engaged in your work. Use highlighting, underlining, and take side notes to help you remember what you just lost.
- Join a Study Team with Classmates - connect with other students from your class and try to do studying and assignments together.
- Take Breaks, Stay Healthy, and Reward Yourself - set pre-breaks before studying. Complete assignments early if possible to eliminate stress and anxiety. Turn on alerts from school apps (canvas, blackboard, etc.) and school emails. Drink water and have healthy study snacks. Reward yourself when it is over with more phone time, more television time, more video game time. Whatever makes you happiest and more relaxed reward yourself with more of it.
We understand that this is a drastic change, inconvenient, and unexpected. We as a community are doing all we can to ensure that our living environment is safe and healthy for us all. Please take precautions, stay stocked up on supplies, and be as clean as you possibly can. Events, school, restaurants, etc. will resume back to normal soon.
