Every weekend, Shadow Husky Rescue Inc. sets up a booth right outside the Petsmart store in Menifee, right on Haun Road. Their objective: to rescue Huskies and provide them with forever homes, and to educate the public on how to properly care for the dogs. That is the mission for founder, Tim McVicker, the owner of eighteen Huskies and Shadow Husky Ranch, 29997 Canyon Hills Rd., Lake Elsinore, Ca.
Mr. McVicker, along with his wife Elizabeth, network with not only people in Southern California, but across the globe as well. They work together to rescue Huskies that are also in danger of being euthanized. Mr. McVicker describes that ninety percent of Huskies that are rescued and placed in foster homes are ultimately adopted.
A 501c3 nonprofit, they go the extra mile for the Huskies, including doing checkups on potential adopters and making sure they are suitable to live with them. Despite word of mouth of their organization, they are in need of help. They are hoping to raise enough money to be able to continue to provide and care for Huskies.
There are also other wonderful organizations in Menifee that are trying to help animals find the perfect family. Shadow Husky Rescue Inc. is one of many organizations in the city that offer animal adoption services and host events that occur every week. One event was this past month’s Chamber of Commerce’s Mixer event, which dedicated to bringing awareness to the cause. If you consider bringing a pet home, please do some research to determine if the pet you want tobring home is right for you.
