The Lake Elsinore Storm finished the first half of the 2014 season with a 40-30 record, good enough for second place in the California League South and third out of ten teams in the league. The Storm started the second half with a 2-2 record, splitting the opening series with the Lancaster JetHawks. After the promotion of All-Stars Hunter Renfroe and Trevor Gott to Double-A San Antonio, the team has a few new faces that will contribute to the playoff push.
Outfielder Mallex Smith joins the Storm leading all of professional baseball in stolen bases, and pitchers Joe Church, Coby Cowgill and Tayron Guerrero will bolster an already impressive Lake Elsinore bullpen. Join us on July 11 for a Night of Fellowship, as local churches visit The Diamond for a night of faith and fun. Pastor and player testimonials are sure to inspire all in attendance, and fans can enjoy a post-game fireworks show. Armed Forces Weekend kicks off on July 12 with the Military Card Set Giveaway, featuring local heroes nominated by the public. Friday, July 25 is our ever-popular Boy Scout Campout, where troops from across Riverside County will pitch their tents in the outfield for a special sleepover. All fans in attendance can enjoy a post-game fireworks show on that evening as well. Nothing Night returns July 28, where guests will experience baseball “au naturel,” and July ends with Super Splash Day on Wednesday, July 30. Tons of exciting things are happening at The Diamond this month, so make sure to get your tickets today!
