Crash diets actually fuel weight gain.
We have all been there. A wedding is on the horizon, it’s a New Year or we are going on a vacation and we decide that we are going to hop on the weight loss wagon and finally lose some weight. We put ourselves on a strict diet. Maybe this time the diet consists of no carbs or maybe no fat. We dramatically reduce our calorie intake while increasing our exercise output. We see results. We lose the weight.
We are happy with our results. Then life happens and slowly we start adding the carbs, the fat and the extra calories. We start eating the old foods we cut out, our exercise routines slow down and the next thing we know we start to gain all the weight back. We are frustrated. We give up. We go full force into old habits. Then a few months later you start the same cycle and begin again. Sound familiar?
Sadly, this cycle is a reality for so many of us.
But here is the deal.
It’s not our fault. We are bombarded with advertisements that say we can “Lose Weight Quick” or “Drop 10 pounds in 2 days” and they sound awesome. I mean who doesn’t want to lose weight fast? The problem with these short term solutions is that they are doing more harm than good.
Truth is, these low calorie, yo-yo diets are not only causing us emotional frustration they are setting us up for failure in the long term. These diets are wrecking our metabolism, increasing our stress producing hormones and increasing output of cortisol. Our bodies are freaking out on the inside and causing serious damage internally and emotionally.
Here is the good news. There are real solutions out there that will not only help you lose the weight safely and will teach you how to keep it off long-term.
Want to know the key to long lasting weight loss?
