"We photographed him in many sessions throughout this terrible disease. I was able to capture memories with his newborn baby, throughout his chemo, and ultimately his last family portrait and final moments in the hospital with his wife and son. It was then that she realized she has a gift that not many people possess and she need to do something with this gift." She decided to begin offering “Loved and Lost” sessions for her clients. Have you ever lost someone you love and wanted one more conversation, one more chance to tell them how much they meant to you? If so, then you know you can go your whole life collecting days, and none will outweigh the one you wish you had back. She is the only photographer known to do these type of session and title them "Love and Lost." She feels it brings some sort of closure to these families. These are sessions to where the loved one has already passed and her clients wish to honor them in some sort of personal session. She also offer a “Forever Loved Session.” These are the sessions where her creativity, empathy and photography skills all come together in a profound way. She works with people in very unique and delicate circumstances to help them establish memories that will last a lifetime. At times my clients may be terminal, very sick, have healed from a sickness or a loved one has died and their family wants me to showcase who they loved and who they were as a person. Her goal is to make your photography session an "experience" not just a day you all come out to look pretty. You may have seen Lindsey's video of an 11 year old little girl walking down the aisle with her terminal father. This video went viral and in a matter of two weeks had been shared over 99 million times. It was then that Lindsey knew she needed to do something BIG, something that would make an even bigger impression on someones life who was suffering.
Do you know someone that has just been diagnosed with cancer? Together, you and I can make a difference!
Love Song Events and Photography has now teamed up with Friends Are By Your Side. What is that you may ask? They are an organization that provides wigs and wishes for people who have been diagnosed with cancer. It was the vision of Martino Cartier, the founder, to join forces with hair salons across the world and take the pledge to restore dignity to women who lost their hair to chemotherapy, AT NO CHARGE. His goal was to find a safe haven for women to go, regardless of their financial situation.
Lindsey has now jumped on board and started her very own foundation. Love Song Wigs and Wishes. She is now the only photographer across the United States doing this with Martino and the only photographer world wide providing these services. She has teamed up with 3 salons for "shaving parties." She said, "We are going to celebrate YOU and allow your friends to come together as we shave your head. Do not allow this chemo and cancer to take your hair from you!" She will personally provide you a wig, on that day, so when you leave, you still feel like "YOU." Your friends and family may join and be part of this symbolic event. She will also provide you a photography session to lovingly document this part of your journey. Often, these wigs can be very expensive, sometimes up to $1200, so she has made a commitment to donate 15% from every photography session to Love Song’s, Wigs and Wishes Foundation. Anyone can donate, so help us spread the word and donate now. At this time Lindsey has not done a fundraiser so raising the money for these wigs has been done solely on her and her company. If you wish to donate please contact Lindsey and visit her website.
